July 14th 2015 - New dinner
It is that time on my meal planner again for "try something new for dinner". I have looked through the food pins I have on pinterest and the hubby said no to chocolate brownie cake or cake batter cinnamon rolls so I kept looking and decided that we would try Cajun Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo .
It looks and sounds nice, I just hope it tastes nice! Will update after tea.

July 13th 2015 - Boarder
July 13th 2015 - Boarder
I have finally got round to putting up the Thomas the Tank Boarder in my sons bedroom. It has only taken me about 2months since buying it.
It's nothing like the picture as that looks like something from the 1980's, but it was the only 1 I could find on pinterest and I couldn't be bothered to look for his and add it as a pin.
I was really pleased with it, it was on a reduced rack in shop in town, was £3.99 a roll down to £1.79 a roll. I bought 3 to make sure I had enough, I have plenty I have used 1 and 1/4 rolls. IF I was too move lil mans bookcase off the stairwell and do that wall as well it probably would use the 2nd roll, but thats too much work to do it. Well I say that today but I will probably change my mind in a few weeks/months and do it.
Lil man is going to be pleased when he comes home from school as has asked since I bought it when i'm going to put it up.

July 12th 2015 - Rugby
July 12th 2015 - Rugby
Rugby - the game not the place. I am none the wiser on the rules now after the match than I was before it. And I wasn't there to eye up the players either. I was at the local game with St John Ambulance as my son (cadet) wanted to go and there has to be a youth leader present.
He spent ages during the game telling me stuff and what was going on and such and I was like "yea i'm a girl, like i'm meant to now or understand!" IF I am going to be down there a lot I will be taking my folding chair instead of sitting on the concrete steps.

July 11th 2015 - Staining the decking
July 11th 2015 - Staining the decking
I have 9 days until my friend is coming to stay, this means that the house needs blitzing from top to bottom, most of this can wait until the day before she gets here as will only end up a mess again with the kids. But it also means that I only have 9 days to make the garden safe for her children (mine know its not completely safe and where they can/cant go etc.)
1 of the jobs that needs doing is the decking to be finished (we have 3 rows to do). But I can stain the part of it that is finished. We bought some ronseal wood stain the other week (£24 in b&q, same stuff in home bargains £8.99!) Yep I can cope with that. I also bought a tin of varnish from £1 shop that I am going to put over the top as a sealant.

July 10th 2015 - Happy
July 10th 2015 - Happy
Today has been a good day for a few reasons and this PIN (see below) fits really well.
1. The counsellor I have been seeing for a few months linked to my depression feels that it is time she discharged me, as she feels my depression levels have improved. This is good and I hope the feeling stays, but I do know that come November I will go down again as I am worse in the winter months and its Mum & Dads anniversary approaching.
2. I went to check my tesco vouchers online to see how many I had and enough it was enough to change up for a ticket to theme park - well I was shocked (in a good way) as I had over £20 in vouchers unused. So I changed some of them for a theme park ticket, ready for sons birthday in August. This has reduced the cost as now only need buy a family of 4 ticket in couple of weeks.
3. My tumble dryer is chucking out money! When I took the clothes out there was a £1 and 1p coin in the bottom of it. Not sure where they came from as I checked pockets before I put clothes in washing machine.
All in all a good day.

July 9th 2015 - Rainbow fan
July 9th 2015 - Rainbow fan
I pinned an image ages ago about turning your plain white plastic fan into a Rainbow fan, however, there was no instructions on what to use to do it. So I had to find another pin that did have some.
I did this no problem, and it said you could use sharpie pens!!! Yay! I like my sharpies, so armed with sharpies and a screw driver I set off to attack the fan! Blades all coloured in I put the cover back on and plugged it in. What a fail and waste of time that was. The sharpies were not bold enough colour to make the rainbow effect, you couldn't see any colour at all.
So I unplugged it, brought it downstairs, re-took the cover off and covered the blades in acrylic paint and re-built it. I left it to dry. I plugged it in and turned it on and nothing, the blades still look clear. i'm really disapointed in this as thought and hoped it would work.

July 8th 2015 - St John Ambulance
July 8th 2015 - St John Ambulance
Today is a mixed day at St John Ambulance. The cadets are doing their sponsored silence as part of their fundraising badge, and also to raise funds to buy the glow in the dark items we need for christmas party. Fingers crossed they all do it, especially my son who has raised £101!

The badgers are *hopefully* going to the park as part of their wild badge, this is weather dependent. As at the moment it is looking very grey and dark and has rained on/off most of day. I did ask them to bring wellies and coats just incase, and as long as not raining hard we will still go, if it is hard they will be watching a dvd.
