September 23rd Memory foam mattress
Today I have been married to my hubby for 9years. We celebrated the other week as we had appointments and were not available to go out today.
However, our new memory foam mattress arrived and we opened it out. We wern't sure how it was going to be as was only £69.99 but had an RRP of £199 so we hoped it would be good. Upon opening it and placing on bed it spread really quickly from being rolled and after 2hrs it was really nice and soft.
I laid on it for a few minutes and my knee didn't hurt (YAY!) and it didn't feel like a spring was digging in it like the old mattress did. I couldn't wait to go to bed.

august 2nd 2015 - pin update
August 2nd 2015 - pin update
I cant believe we are in august already. This means that I have done well over half of the pins a day challenge. Yay!!! I wont lie some days have been hard and I didn't know what to do, others have been really easy.
I decided for today that I would do a pin update on my pin boards and how many new ones I have added. The last time I did this was in February:
the original figures of January 1st were as follows:
2 accounts with a total of 121 boards (58 of these are linked to the SJA courses),
121 boards have 7,016pins (681 are on SJA Account)
6,316pins on main account to do 365
A month into the challenge and the figures look this:
2 accounts with a total of 126 boards
126 boards have 7,741 pins (825 are on the SJA account)
6,916 pins are on the main account
now 8months into the challenge and the figures look like this:
2 accounts with a total of 142 boards (57 are on the SJA account)
the 142 boards have 9,845 pins (1,154 on on SJA account)
8,691 pins are on the main account.
so since January I have done a total of 228 pins (some days had multiple pins used) so I still have the choice of 9,617 pins to finish the year from. I have added an extra 21 boards but removed 1 from the SJA as was a duplicate and have added 2,829 new pins!!!
I think it is safe to say that I pin more than I actually do! However, saying that I do know that there are loads on the "indoor camping" board that I have actually used and printed for the Badger Day Camp, but I still don't think it equals the extra amount pinned!

July 14th 2015 - New dinner
July 14th 2015 - New dinner
It is that time on my meal planner again for "try something new for dinner". I have looked through the food pins I have on pinterest and the hubby said no to chocolate brownie cake or cake batter cinnamon rolls so I kept looking and decided that we would try Cajun Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo .
It looks and sounds nice, I just hope it tastes nice! Will update after tea.

March 23rd 2015 - Try something new for tea
March 23rd 2015 - Try something new for tea
As part of the family meal planner I made back in January (that has been altered/updated twice since as found other meals we had forgot about) there is a "try something new for tea". For this I decided we would try a recipe I had pinned on pinterest for Honey & BBQ shredded chicken.
It sounds really nice and hopefully the kids will like it. The only thing we have not included is the Italian dressing it says as when I looked at it in shop it looked really horrible and the ingredients had things in I don't eat, so fingers crossed it works and is liked. It smells nice so far.
The recipe says to use 3 pieces of chicken breast but mine are just big enough for a mouse so i've added about 8 bits to the slow cooker.
I will update later with pics and the verdict of tea.
UPDATE
Well it was cooked alot earlier than the time stated so we had tea at 4pm instead of 5:30pm. There was mixed reviews on it. I personally thought it was really nice and so did 2 of the boys, they just couldn't eat all I gave them and there was loads of chicken left so we don't need as many pieces of chicken as I thought we would. Hubby liked it loose on plate but not in the bread roll as it altered the taste and lil man said he didn't like taste BUT he has come home from school not well and complaining of ear ache and is off to docs soon.
We will try it again another day but I think would work nicely as an extra for a bbq! Overall I would say thumbs up for it.

February 1st 2015 - What shall I pin today?
February 1st 2015 - What shall I pin today?
I have completed my first month of the 365 Pin a day challenge! YAY go me!
However, for todays pin I decided to go with this:
The reason for this is although I have been doing 1 pin a day of things already pinned, I have also pinned a lot more - more than the 31 I have completed! I'm not quite sure that this was part of the 365 though, but never mind.
The original figures of January 1st were as follows:
2 accounts with a total of 121 boards (58 of these are linked to the SJA courses),

6,916 pins are on the main account
So this means in 31days I have made a further 5 more boards and added 600 new pins, of which 144 are on my St John account and 456 new pins are on my main account! I'm not sure if this is good or bad, but I suppose it all depends on how you look at it. Is the glass half full or half empty???
This does show that I am pinning more than I am doing, which probably means I have far too much time on my hands doing nothing, but as i'm limited on what I can actually do still due to pain in my knee I happy to use that as my reason.

January 12th 2015 - Laptop tray
JANUARY 12TH 2015 - laptop tray
My laptop tray is 1 of those that is filled with bean bag beans, now this was ok but the seams have split and everytime I move or put it down beans come out. I did try and glue it back together but this hasn't worked. Also since injuring my knee 2years ago having the laptop try right on my lap seems to add to the pain of my knees.
So I decided to do a hunt for a new laptop tray - 1 that had legs and rested around my legs and not sat on them seemed a good idea. I looked at argos for 1 first - £28! Not a chance am I paying that! So I then looked on pinterest for ideas of how to make them, I didn't find much. BUT I did find a very nice laptop tray (today's pin) and then looked on ebay and found almost the same one for just over £10 and ordered it. Even though it's not here I have ordered 1 and will be here by the end of the week.
The old 1 will be going in the bin and hopefully my knees will ease up abit!

A new baby......
........not of the human variety I may add! But I have been and bought a baby bearded dragon. It is believed that it is a "he" but as only 7weeks old this may not be correct as very hard to tell under 8-10weeks.
We have named him Hunter. He has lots of orange to his markings. He is very small.

On my 11yr old hand to show size |
We only got him because our Tortoise died, she was a rescue pet and had been fed cat meat daily for her 1st year of life. The vets said she would only live for 2-3years and we had her for 9years, so she was 10yrs old when she died.

What a day!!!
Today is horrid, i'm hoping that it ends better than it is now! Despite things starting well this morning.
Today is the day we finally get our boiler fitted on the government scheme for people on benefits, this has only taken 7months, 3 companies and a cancelled appointment to finally take place.
The 1st company back in July 2013 said yes they could do it and filled out all the paperwork, did all the checks said they could the loft and wall insulation as well. Well the guys came and did the insulation and whilst they were here we received a call saying that they were no longer fitting boilers and we wouldn't be getting one. So we hunted around and found company number 2. Who came and did all checks and the paperwork and booked a fitting date in September. The day before we received a phonecall "we're very sorry but you won't be getting your new boiler tomorrow as we no longer have any funding to do them." So the search begin yet again for a new company.
That was when we found the company we have used. This took us longer than planned and we finally had the assessor come out in December, who did all the checks and paperwork and booked us in for February. The date of last week was cancelled as the engineer was ill and it was re-booked for today.
Well the engineer turned up and started to remove the old boiler, the back door is wide open, the kitchen window is open and I have a hole in the wall where my boiler once was - my nice warm house (and myself) is like a fridge!!! No joke I think the north pole wold be warmer. And the weather is threatening to snow - there is snow 5miles away on the fells! The engineer received a phonecall saying that they would NOT be able to get an electrician out to check and test it all until tomorrow! ERRR NO!!! not an option to have no heating and no hot water in winter (in the Lake District) when I have 3 young children, 1 of which is majorily Asthmatic and temperature changes affect him, 1 is under the age of 5years and I have pre-booked hospital appointments for tomorrow.
So Hubby gets on the phone to the company who tell us there is no electrician within 100miles who is free to come to us, Hubby tells them it's not good enough and about children and appointments etc. They say they will ring us back. Which they did with the same answer. So we tell them again that its not good enough and need it sorting today. I told the engineer that the local papers would be very interested in this and how bad it will look for their company and we receive yet another call saying they have found an electrician and he will be with us in half an hour. Well an hour and 20minutes later there is still NO electrician, so another call to the company is taking place.
I will update later on the elusive electrician and weather or not I get heating today!
UPDATE - the electrician has finally turned up and the 2 of them are trying to get things working so that they can sign it off BUT they are not getting any pressure and the tank wont re-fill. oh dear!!! Also the electrician has said that the last "periodic inspection" was done in 2001 and is therefore out of date as only last 10years - i was led to believe that this had been done before we bought the house as all websites are saying need to be done to sell a property.
Tea is in the slow cooker, no idea what its going to turn out like - pizza rolls. We will see. if it fails I have pizzas in the freezer!
